Hello all,
We hope you’ve been well. It’s been fascinating to see the latest developments in emerging tech over the last month. Despite the political issues relating to Ukraine v. Russia (and now Israel v. Palestine), there’s still much good happening around the world. And it’s always important to remember that.
What’s interested us the most, is the rise of community-tech innovations. Specifically the elevation community is getting in the realms of AI, SEO, and even monetization. Because of AI, it is now easier than ever to create content — there’s little to no room for excuses in not creating useful content with it. However, it has also made things harder for search engines and algorithms to determine what’s “real” vs. not.
As a result, private communities are becoming incredibly popular. Why? Because they offer a safe haven from prying Large Language Models (LLMs), which have been scraping public data for “free” over the years. It’s pushing the need for better payment mechanisms for original content authors (hello blockchain-based micropayments). And it’s giving good community builders new avenues for monetization (because people are now willing to pay more for private member experiences).
One of our clients is thick in the middle of combining the best of AI + communities, with the prospect of integrating micropayments in the world of career management. More on this in the future.
