👀 Opportunity: Personal Wisdom Keepers (Local AI)
Google just updated its privacy policy to allow data scraping for AI training. As a result, the idea of having your own local AI is picking up steam. Brian Roemmele is leading the charge with his new project SaveWisdom.org. We think he’s spot-on about what’s going to matter more in the future, especially as large tech companies continue to scrape personal data off the Internet — without your consent — to train their LLMs. The interesting thing here, however, is that for users to get more control over their data, a scaleable blockchain infrastructure is going to be needed. This is why we think we still have 15 more years to go before any of these technologies converge into something meaningful for the masses. Right now, blockchain/AI/Web3 advocates are still in the early adopter phase.
🎙️ Opinion: Bitcoin Ordinals
Last quarter, we mentioned Bitcoin Ordinals. Since then, we’ve seen further adoption and experiments. If you missed the initial hype, Bitcoin Ordinals are “fundamental units of Bitcoin (i.e. satoshis or sats), which have been minted and integrated with a unique piece of information.” As a result, they become unique identifiers — similar to a basic NFT (non-fungible token).
But look below at how “the culture” is influencing development within the Bitcoin Ordinals community. In fact, if you look across most tech projects today, “the culture” keeps coming back as a defining feature. It’s always considered something intangible, yet it speaks to the quote by Peter Drucker, “Culture eats strategy for breakfast.” If you neglect your culture, it may cost you in other ways in today’s business landscape.
